At the fun day Pilots, airfield staff and members of the local community generously give up their time and more than 100 children with cancer and their families are treated to flights entertainment and rallying experiences like circus skills.

In 1948, the new Jaguar XK120 was unveiled to the public and Clarke Gable was smitten. What attracted Gable to this car was its combination of beauty and performance. Gable would go to International Motors on Wilshire Boulevard in Hollywood and personally insist that he be sold the very first XK120 to arrive on the West Coast.
Wing Commander Peter Thompson dfc was primarily responsible for the formation of what we now know as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. There was a strong belief among some in the RAF that the service’s greatest Battle Honour should continue to be commemorated in a fitting fashion and the best way to do that was to keep the last remaining examples of the legendary fighters which had won the Battle of Britain
– the Hurricane and Spitfire – in the air.
This could not have been more evident than at the 2016 Blackmore Vale Revival classic motoring event as the roar of the Merlin engines signalled the fly past.
